QA Engineer-II

The Quality Assurance Engineer II will understand our test automation processes and provide, among other things, hands-on-automation development and testing, risk analysis, and various other types of testing services. The QA Engineer II will have a passion for learning and working in development and technology with the desire to hold impactful roles on challenging projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review manual test cases to ensure steps are documented properly and are ready for test automation.
  • Collaborate with manual testing team to prepare manual test cases for automation readiness.
  • Plan, develop, execute, and maintain automated unit, functional test cases; develop modular, robust, and maintainable automation scripts in an Agile-Scrum environment.
  • Able to execute performance and/or security testing for assigned product(s).
  • Participate in testing tool and infrastructure acquisition, design, development and maintenance.
  • Develop custom solutions for testing multi-threaded and multi-process scenarios.
  • Configure and run test suite builds in DevOps for test automation.
  • Create and configure environments/servers for testing needs.
  • Contribute to conversations, identify opportunities, foster understanding, and advocate for end user.
  • Thoroughly and accurately document identified bugs, defects, and regressions in a timely manner.
  • Thoroughly and accurately record and verify all test results.
  • Assess risk and perform bug scoring.
  • Support both functional UI and data engineering testing frameworks as needed.
  • Take ownership and lead any necessary automated regression test runs to support updates to our products.
  • Take initiative to learn new things in order to grow rapidly from constant exposure to innovative ideas, concepts, and patterns as well share those findings effectively.
  • Works independently and successfully in unsupervised work environments and can make sound business decisions consistently, without supervisors’ guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Data Analytics or relevant field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software quality and testing using automated tools and frameworks to test websites and APIs or SQL Queries.
  • Demonstrated competency in one or more languages: C, C++, C#, JAVA, Python, JavaScript.
  • In-depth knowledge of DataLink’s testing frameworks.
  • Experience with a test management tool like DevOps Test Plan, HP Quality Center, TestRail.
  • Understands unit tests and unit testing best practices and shares advice to the team(s).
  • Experienced software tester.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Learns and demonstrates familiarity and knowledge of products.
  • Ability to make sound decisions quickly, with and without all the information available.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new business domains and technologies.
  • Driven and motivated to explore all options in order to learn and help the team.
  • Enthusiasm for software testing and quality.
  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
